The Internet is rife with ads for online data processing. All of the online typing sites ensure that their opportunities are scam-free, legitimate and real. But for those stay at house moms, students, and unemployed people who want to work from house, is data entry really as lucrative as the ads say? What is the earning potential?
Traditional data entry, that is medical billing, appointment selling, and legal transcription are nowhere near as lucrative as the ads would have stay house workers believe. Applicants must possess a very fast typing speed, 80+ keystrokes per hour and have previous experience. The typist is either compensated on a per project basis, or offered an hourly rate between $13-$19 an hour. Not quite as lucrative as many so called 'simple form filling' sites advertise.
Sites that advertise thousands per month are really ad copy and pasting jobs and commission is earned through unique clicks and sales. They can potentially earn unlimited income, but they are based on you maximizing profit and typing ads for a company so that other online job seekers can pay for the same opportunity, like MLM.
Vacancies for traditional typing jobs are actually few and far between, and there are almost no free, legitimate work at house data entry jobs aside from those advertised on freelance websites. There are a few websites that list directories of traditional typing companies, but competition is fierce. So where should an at house worker turn?
Residual income streams. Freelance work from sites like Get a Freelancer and Mechanical Turk combined with data entry assignments, free paid surveys, free mystery shops, and most lucrative of all, affiliate marketing. The combination of all of these sources should be enough for at work house workers to make a living, but one single source usually isn't enough.

Data Entry
ReplyDeleteA wide range of businesses need workers to enter various data into their
systems, whether that data are used to track inventory or shipments, create business plans, or measure performance or output. And since a computer and typing skills are the most important requirements for this job, many data entry workers are able to work at home, and on a schedule that fits their lives.
According to the BLS, data entry workers earned a national median wage of $30,100 in 2016, although the top 10% earned more like $45,360. Since many data entry jobs are at-home jobs, you can always find dozens of data entry job postings on sites like Upwork.com, Freelancer.com, and SimplyHired.com, as well as dozens of others.
